We’re pleased to announce that our latest edition of The aHUS Global Advocate newsletter has been released (Vol 14, August 2026) – our aHUS Awareness Day Special Edition. Where can you get aHUS news that’s independent, objective, and focused on what’s important to the atypical HUS community? Here! Overall this newsletter is a trusted source of atypical HUS ‘News You Can Use’ for families and advocates, as well as for any stakeholders interested in aHUS treatment and research.
Don’t miss this newsletter’s highlights which focus on the debate on updating the name of the disease to better reflect new scientific advancements in medicine and research. We look at name change practicalities that arise when modifying the current name for aHUS, as well as questions to address. Among the issues in our articles and highlighted in our volume 14 Special Edition are these. What would aHUS look like to the patients yet to onset, compared to existing patients? What are the ‘name change’ viewpoints of aHUS patients, family caregivers, and advocates? Additionally we’ve noted our overview of common questions which were addressed in ‘Since You Asked: aHUS Nomenclature.’
Be sure to check out the main feature of this volume 14 Special Edition of The aHUS Global Advocate, which is our call for aHUS/cTMA community support for the 2026 project for aHUS Awareness Day (24 Sept 2026). It’s the 11th year of this international international campaign to raise atypical HUS awareness, and a vital part of that is valuing the patient voice which is at the heart of both advocacy and care decisions. Learn more about this project and its call for participation from patients, caregivers and partners – it’s at the core of this edition of our newsletter.
Written by an international team of aHUS patients and caregivers, the newsletter is an objective look at information and topics important to aHUS families. The aHUS Global Advocate provides a snapshot of updates on research and high interest topics that are specific to atypical HUS.Just finding out about this way to keep connected with global aHUS advocacy, and want to get future newsletters?
